PATONG INFORMATION AND ADVICE

Hello lads

Taking a trip to Thailand and looking to fill a few days with traveling to another destination after Pattaya.

Patong seems good but I'm also seeing mixed reviews about prices and scams and general mongering.

 

Would anyone kindly give me some advice and reviews (good and bad) about Patong.

Include advice about hotels, beaches, lady's, transportation, cost of drinks and food and any other advice that is relevant.

Phuket is more of a holiday feel than patts if I'm honest because of the beach, but I haven't been for 4 years. I hear the prices for most things are alot higher, more so for the girls. Leave the tuktuks alone,complete rip off . stay well clear of the jet ski's. Be very careful of the rip tides in the sea. Nearly caught me one year. I'm off to work now so can't add more advice but I'm sure other BMs will help.

The only Agogo worth a visit is Diablo Agogo on Soi Seadragon. Nice, friendly ladies and the boss is a funny guy. For beer bars go to Otop Market. Relaxed atmosphere and a lot cheaper than the bars around Soi Bangla.

There's only one thing that's cheaper in Phuket. Laundry. Everything else is more expensive.

No it's not shit unless you are a go go kind of person.  Find a girl friendly hotel near Bangla (i.e. Yorkshire hotel, great spot, and a stone's throw away from Bangla).  Bangla is all about the beer bars and the clubs/discos.  You can easily get a LT for 2000 baht.
