Do I have to buy tickets through Thaimajor (and pick them up at Siam CC) or can I just buy them at the event?. Would prefer the latter in case something happens. Thx

I very much doubt it'll be a sell out. I watched the blokes play at Amarta Springs two years ago when Garcia won and just paid at the gate,

Paid at the gate a few years back. Very relaxed and provided you are polite  you can chat to some of the players whilst they are walking or waiting. It was funny watching the Thai girls staring at Michelle Wie, since most (who knew nothing about golf) thought she must be a ladyboy.
