Will a locked iPhone be able to use wifi

Will my locked iPhone be able to access wifi with an new sim or is it totally licked down unable to be used for anything other than an expensive paper weight?

It will work fine mate , when I have been to America I stick my iPhone on flight mode until I return . Can access wifi and not get any nasty big bills from contract provider .

Wifi , will work most your apps as well ie PA , FB , what's app and line .

I always send the family a quick email every few days as well , ive not tried FaceTime but I presume it will be the same as the other apps

The system that a SIM uses and the system that WiFi uses are two different things and they are independent. You can use WiFi even if you have no SIM card in the phone.

 

As others have indicated make sure you are not using roaming.

No, if your iPhone is stolen, and locked by the built-in security system, you won't be able to use it at all - doesn't matter if wifi or not.
