Was there in 2011 and all I can remember is a few bars between the north of Long Beach and the south of Klong Dao beach. they were on the mountain side of the road and lit up in pink set a bit further back from the road. There was also a massage place at the north of Long Beach that had girls dressed normally and they only opened in the PM. Also a massage place at the south of Klong Dao beach side of road. Better off taking your own.

 

Found it a very nice laid back place. Not much to see or do but the drive around the island is very pleasant.

Saw that in 2012 - more locals than farang served, and the "talent" was pretty poor. It's a family island - just bring your own.

Sooo nothing at all on Koh Lanta? Some how I can't quite accept that. Any info appreciated, or I'll hunt down and report here.

Having a property nearby I,ve been a couple of times with my TGF.....its certainly NOT a place for mongering unless U take someone with you.....its rather run down to be honest and the nearby Krabi is so much better.........give it a miss IMHO

Appreciate your input - but I will be going there for 1 -3 days and would love to have some intel ahead of time to get a wee bit of satisfaction. Anyone have any luck with online apps in the area?

Also heading there soon. So I guess best idea to spend time there is to rent motorbike and drive along the island, make some photos and for night base yourself near the long beach. Last month I've been sailing around Lanta and it indeed looks boring and empty from the sea. Maybe jump from Lanta to Koh Lipe to make this trip more interesting and diverse.

There are a few full service massage places on the east side of the main drag (4245). Can't recall the name, but it's a chain of pink coloured, slightly dodgy looking shops. Think it's Lisa's massage or something. Basic room with mattress on the floor. Service is ok if you make it clear you're an experienced monger, not some tourist looking for a 3000 baht handjob.

I was last there 9 years ago.  I found some full service massage places too but only went once.   Koh Lanta is an interesting place,  very Muslim but you could still buy beer.  Rented out a motorbike that broke down several times, found some secluded beaches and went for a snorkeling trip that got canceled half way through due to a bad storm.  I stayed about 20 min from the main town where you arrive on the ferry.  I had taken a van from Ao Nang Krabi to the islands.  I don't recommend thus at all.  Besides the crowded van and the numerous stops you have to deal with 2 ferry crossings.  Best to take a big speedboat/ferry from Phuket town or Ao Nang.

Koh Lanta was pretty built up at the time so you won't find clear blue water and beaches without garbage.  Once again that was 9 yrs. ago.

Went out in Long Beach area mostly. Bars like Sixten's (google map link here) had ZERO available girls, the couple running the place was cool but said they all left for Songkran and low season coming up (low season in Koh Lanta is VERY slow apparently).

Ventured up towards the North end of Long Beach area and found an area I wish I'd found on the first day (google map link here). Nothing earth shattering, but in the area along this road (mostly on the inland side of the road) are a few massage places, karaoke places, etc. At 5pm there were no farang in site. Woke up the mamasan at a massage place (Relax Massage) and could tell the type of place it was: "yes we have private room, yes 'special' massage, etc", but that she'd have make a call and would have 3 girls there within 20 minutes. In the meantime, I walked next door to a beer bar with 2 girls working (both available but just got out of shower), and next door to a thai Karaoke. Each of these places had a few things in common: 1. very basic/modest setup 2. it was early so girls weren't as available or ready. If you haven't been to a modest thai Karaoke bar before, it may be a bit intimidating, but I found it a bit fun after nothing but beaches and trekking for a few days. 2 girls were available, I enjoyed a beer and took the milfy/slutty one after some negotiations (1500 baht, 300 for the house) and we used a room in the back of where the Thai guys were karaoke'ing and playing pool. Again, VERY modest - mattress on the floor and a standing fan, that's it. Got the job done and was an interesting experience. Had a beer at the bar next door after and could see the girls who had come back to Relax massage - made me glad I didn't wait there. On the way back heading South, stopped at a few more beer bars as it was dark by this point and they were coming to life. Definitely not somewhere I'd go to monger, but nice to have some p4p option easily available wherever you are in the world. 

BTW the google street view for the area says October 2018 but several of the businesses are different now than just 6 months ago so use the area as a kind of rough starting point. After dark it should be obvious to a monger where there is some action to be had, but you won't mistake it for the BKK/Pattaya/Phuket scene. Best of luck mongers...
