Using prepaid DTAC sim in Europe?

Recommended Posts

I bought a Dtac Happy Tourist sim card and used it in Pattaya during July. There is about 300 baht left on the card.

Now back home the phone do not connect to any operator and cannot be used. Is there anything I can do to be able to use the sim at home?

I really don't know what your problem can be. DTAC / Telenor should roam accross Scandinavia fine.

But in case anybody else reads this thread this is what I do.

Before going to UK I pump around 600 baht in and insert into a dual SIM phone but set the sending preference to the UK SIM. I purchase the cheapest deal for international calls in UK so that I recieve my thai calls on roaming and reply with my UK SIM.....

FYI: I have the same problem, and posted a similar question in the "Mobile" forum: http://www.pattaya-addicts.com/forum/topic/276493-using-dtac-tourist-sim-card-in-europe-netherlands-not-working/ a few days ago.

It's good to know I'm not the only one. I did receive a few helpful replies, but no solution yet. I've contacted DTAC support, and will keep my thread updated.

Roaming service is disabled by default on DTAC sim cards. To activate it you can either call call-center or dial *188#See below link for more infohttps://www.dtac.co.th/en/prepaid/services/roaming/

Thanks, but now back home the phone does not connect to any operator and I cannot dial anything.
