Thai sausage

On my last trip to Chang Mai, I tasted some fantastic sausage in the local market.

Anyone seen or had any in pattaya or elsewhere?

Can get it in some of the Pattaya markets but up north it's far better,

Sai ouy it's called and it's awesome.

I make my own.

Street carts in some sois along Pattaya also sell those round ball sausages, a bit sour tasting but not too bad.

555, I *love* the sour ones. You can get sour or not. They make the sour ones sour by leaving them out for a few days to ferment.

 

When I get sausages from my favorite place, sometimes the lady tells me 'they're not very sour today, it was too rainy.' In other words, it didn't get hot enough for them to get sour.

 

You can usually order them sour or not.

 

Pree ow = sour

Mai pree ow = not sour
