The word "Gem"?

What does it mean. I know I have learnt it but I've forgotten its meaning which is annoying me. I've tried on Thai2English etc but no joy.

Gem means salty. If food is too salty it is "gem mak"

No its not that translation. Its definitely pronounced "gem" as I've seen it in Thai2English before but just cant for the life of me remember the english word for it

Can't help - I don't know of any Thai word that is pronouned "gem" - any idea on context - then maybe we can help.

Sorry Ajay, just not enough information to work on mate. Long vowel or short? any idea of the tone? Do you mean "Gem" pronounced as in gemstone? or is the initial "G" pronounced as it would be in Gary?

 

So many things it could be, would need a more accurate description or an example of the word in use really.
