LK Metropole vs. LK Royal Suites

Hey guys, I was wondering if there was any construction next to either of these hotels that could make a stay at either really noisy? Obviously Pattaya is under construction constantly but I would really like to not stay next door to it. Both of the hotels are pretty nice and about the same price (37 USD for RS and 41 for Metro) on ratestogo using the promo code play18. I would prefer to stay at the LK Metro location because it is closer to the action..but not if there is a bunch of noise every day. Any current info would be great!! Thanks guys!!

Went to visit a friend who was saying at Royal Suites recently, would recommend it, really nice inside! Thinking about booking there myself for next trip!

Bare in mind that the Royal Wing standard rooms are in s separate building and the only construction work in that area is behind the D apartments 2 sois over.

At that price I would imagine that the rooms at the royal suite will be the ones in the annex across the Soi, the one leading to royal wing.

See map above, damn I'm too slow again.

I hope they have improved since I made the mistake of staying there about 5 years ago as they were pretty shabby then.

The fact these rooms used to be described as deluxe and are now standard doesn't sound good.

The only thing putting me off the LK metropole, would be the afternoon sun belting down on the balconies.

hmm hadn't thought about that..I really like the LK hotels and would stay at the empress every time if budget wasn't a concern. Its about 20 USD more per day for the city view/no view rooms. I haven't stayed at metropole yet..think I'm going to go for it and give it a try.

I am in a superior room at the Metropole - it's more than adequate

(aircon is a tad noisy, but I sleep with earplugs in anyway :) )
