advise for visa extension when enter thailand by land (Australian Passport)

Had a 60 day visa when first arrived  by air in Bangkok. Did some travelling on northern thailand (chiang mai, chaing rai, Udon Thani)  for 40 days then decided to visit Laos by land through Nong Khai. On my way back to Thailand they only give me a 15 days visa on arrival that will expire on 13th April. My return flight to Oz is on the 25th so I'm 12 days short. 

Can I apply for a visa extension in Jomtien for 15 days or do I have to go out of Thailand.

you can only get 7 days in Jomtien..

your in a tight spot..

I think you have have to go cambodia or something

 yes 15 days by land

30 days if you fly in

Has anyone done an exit and entry on the same day at a land crossing recently? Any problems?
