I've gotten really seriously back into the gym, and now I'm thinking I can't possibly quit lifting while I'm in LOS.

 

I know of Tony's...but don't have a link saved to it. Any other choices, with a good location at a reasonable price.

 

I don't mean a little gym with cardio machines and 20lb weights, I mean a full blown gym.

Fairtex Hotel's Sports and Racquet Club is easily the best Gym (i.e. inc tennis, pool, boxing gym etc) in Pattaya. Its also the most expensive by some way.

 

Fairtex hotel Guests get free usage.

 

Fairtex hotel has rooms from 950 baht per night on the Pattaya Addicts Hotel Booking Page

 

They are only 818 baht on Agoda (also has the "superior" room at 2,555 *normally 4396 per night)

 

The superior rooms are excellent and this price is a bargain when you consider that you get free use of the Gym etc.

 

Fairtex Website - dont book the room here as they are MUCH more expensive (5000+ for the superior).

 

Fairtex is located at Dolphin Roundabout so is on the circular baht bus route.

 

In the pics below the Standard Room shows twin beds but you can have a Kingsize instead.

:GrinNod1: do you have any rates for the apartments and are they available on short term lets? I have seen some pics of them and they look good. He built them as serviced offices originally I think but converted to apartments as they weren't renting out.

WS, they were available for short term in April when I was going to book. You're right, they look very good, but I remember the prices were pretty high. I tried finding the email they sent me but I guess I have deleted it as I can't find it. They don't post the rates on the site, which is not a good sign in my opinion. I ended up staying at Queen Vic again, and it was ฿40 by motorbike to Tony's on Third.

There is a gym/fitness place at the new Avenue Shopping centre on 2nd Rd. Not sure what its like inside but its about 2 minutes walk from Pattaya Bay Resort.

The whole second floor of Tony's trade center is an extension of the Fitness Center across the road, the top floor is one large area with tennis and badminton courts, table tennis and pool table. everything is available for both gym members and apartment tenants.

google search : - "tony pattaya" Apartments pages, click on size apartment you are interested in and prices will come up.

There used to be a gym called "Universe" onBeach Road but I think it moved to Sukhumvit Rd. Maybe someone can verify this. It wasn't air conditioned and was used more by the "hard core" body builders.

 

Can anybody update info on this gym?

As indicated by other board members, there is a California WOW inside of the Avenue, which is just across the street (less than a 5 minute walk) from the Pattaya Bay Resort. I was able to negotiate a one month membership for around 1,600 baht. The sales staff will initially show you a laminated price sheet with obscene prices, just tell them this is way more than you want to pay, pretend to leave and they will start offering you some one time special price. Go from there.
