Hotel massage service?

I was wondering what to expect from a massage in a hotel in thailand. Are they the therapeutic kind, or can you get "extras"? Probably best to know before i go so there are no missunderstandings

I've been to various big hotels with "health centres" in Bangkok. As soon as I entered the shower, I've been asked something like "you want sexy massage?" - Didn't really expect that from such big and pricy hotels...

 

Usually I'm not up for that kind of massage. massage and a sexy time are two different things for me.

In 2003 I stayed in a 4 star hotel in Bangkok and had a massage from a girl that was employed by the hotel. The girl just came to the room and gave me a massage and then left.

In 2006 I stayed in a hotel in Pattaya and there was a beauty salon in reception. It wasn't run by the hotel. One afternoon I booked a girl for a 1 hour massage. During the massage the girl indicated that she was happy to do extra's. And the money from the extra's would go in her pocket. I was happy to pay for the extra's .

 

I think if your hotel has a massage service and you book a girl for 1 or 2 hours I think you should just go with the flow and ither let the girl drop hints that she is willing to give extra's OR just be polite and ask.
