Mata Hari or Casa Pascal.

Not cheap but in my book super places and top class food both Western & Thai.

I'd just ask her. If she doesn't know I'd suggest the Montien hotel Pattaya (especially as there is a very awesome seafood buffet on fridays).

Not on a friday I might be thinking of the Markland hotel. If you book a table a day before you'll be able to get one with an excellent view over the city. Ruen Thai or some food courts might also be an option.

IIRC the BBQ & Seafood on Fridays is from 6PM to 10PM. Been there with a mate around 7PM without reservation, 750 Baht per person.

the 'aka' restaurant on top floor of Royal Garden plaza, some excellent Japanese food available.

I would ask her if she wants to invite some friends to dinner. Socializing is for most TG more important than going to a pricy restaurant. I would recommend the fishing park on 3rd road. Relaxed atmosphere, romantic setting, good food.

Bang saray is good if you are in a crowd as the variation of dishes you can pick if everyone orders different things is great.

A friend of mine tried to book there in June but it was closed. Not sure if this was a temporary thing or permanent.

assuming this fishing park place is now open, can anyone give me further info on how to get there - what is the name of the place and- what would a taxi cost from say beach road? is this the place where you catch your own fish and they cook it?

cheers

Here it is: http://www.pattayaphotoguide.com/?5XyRUHgukcFB

Look out for the green sign. Taxi cost 100 Baht at the most, motorbike taxi 2x20 Baht. You can catch a fish and they cook it, but you can as well order from a menu. Never paid more than 1000 Baht and had a great evening with a girl I like.

  • 2 months later...

Best place by far is the Mantra at the Amari hotel right on the corner or beach road.

They have a Sunday brunch from 11 to 3 that is out of this world..

Oysters, prawns. sushi, chinese, steak, beef, lamb, curry, italain, pizza, loads. cheese.. chocolate fountain..

Honest if you have never been it is well worth the visit.. I always go there when im in Pattaya.

Its about 1300 bht each, but well worth it.

Enjoy
