My Gf has room no TV, no cable connection. If i buy used TV , can she still get basic Thai tV or now need cable ?

Yeah, it should be fine with rabbit ears or some other kind of indoor antenna.

Broadcasts are still made on the old frequencies, but in Pattaya with so many tall buildings the signal may have so much interference that watching it may not be possible.  Find out from someone in a neighbouring room what the signal is like.
