I stayed a while back in a deluxe room & had no problems with it. Decent bed, cable TV & coffee making area. Balcony overlooked the street. Don’t think noise was much of a problem. Only the stairs were a bit steep. If they have done them up recently then even better.

Just make sure you stay in one of the newer deluxe rooms. I stayed at the QV a year ago for a couple of nights and the room was pretty bad. It didn't even have an outside window to the rest of the world and it was pretty dirty. My buddy says we are picky, but my friends and I like to have a shower curtain in the bathroom so everything doesn't get soaked.

Can't beat the location though and they are several girl friendly.

I stayed there in October 2006. I stayed in a superior room WITH a window.

It only cost 700 Baht a night and I stayed there for about 10 days.

Pros

1. Cheap

2. Great location on Soi 6. Close to Big C.

3. Very girl friendly

4. Bed is comfy, cable TV, wireless internet, safe large enough to fit a wide screen laptop

5. Owner is friendly

6. Food is good

7. Air conditioning worked really well

Cons

1. Wireless internet connection somewhat unstable

2. Bathroom is just one big room with no partition so everything gets wet when you take a shower

3. Sort of a musty smell when I first entered the room.

4. Back staircase (fire escape) entrance only after midnight.

Just came home :Chokdee3: from a trip to pattaya and we ended up staying at Qv after we tried 1 night at the Charming inn, and i most say i was suprised by the rooms at Qv. I talked to the owner Vic and all rooms but 2 or 3 are recently been remaked, new bathrooms. The 800 bths rooms was equipped with glasdoorshowers. He also told me he is building a suite with bubblebath and flatscreentv. At 2100 a night it may be to expensive for a month but to start in there for 2 days its perfect.

Great food and free newspapers in the bar downstairs.

Very good for eyeing up the girls, in safety, before venturing out.

Great value place to stay, huge "Deluxe" rooms, complete with Dvd player, only 10 Baht on a Bhat bus down to Walking Street. The only downside is no swimming pool & some might find running the Gauntlet of Soi 6 a bit intimidating.

Can anybody tell me of a hotel in Pattaya that lets non-guests use their swimming pool for a small fee of course?

I am headed there in a few days. So far the communication with the Queen Vic has been painless, I am hoping for as good of luck with the stay. I will post some pics and a review later.

Cheers!
