Ordering a cuppa

Knight Life

Recommended Posts

I have noticed that when you order a cup of tea you need to ask for more hot water, as the cup is only 2/3rds full.

This happened to me at Robins Nest, The Jolly Friar and today at the Pig and Whistle.

Yes I know it’s trivial but I do enjoy a full cup, and don’t want to bother the staff for more water.

Perhaps in future I will ask in advance….. :GoldenSmile1:

I would guess they are leaving you room for all the milk you Brits generally add to your tea.  Not a dig just an observation from when I dated and lived with a English girl for five or so years.  I think all the places you mentioned are British owned or operated establishments.

Someday I hope to have a worry-free life where this would be considered a problem significant enough to share on a message forum  :GoldenSmile1:

Amazon are the same with white coffee. I always ask for full cup, those who pay, say.

Take your own 'big' mug, I'm sure they would be happy to fill it for you

There is a bigger problem than a lack of water when ordering tea in Pattaya and that is Liptons!

Vile stuff, weak as piss. If it isn't Tetley or a mug of Monkey ( PG Tips) you might just as well drink the hot water served!

Chucking our tea into Boston Harbour back in the day without having a decent alternative was probably one of the first poor foreign policy decisions America made.......some would say its been downhill ever since!

It's because the tea is so piss weak. Any more water and you won't even taste the tea.
