SOI 13

hi we have decided to stay in the soi 13 area for our short stay (first time ) in pattaya ,can anyone give us some info about this part of town i.e. good thai food, good bars , and shopping . we will be having a good look around pattaya after our first few days.thanks

Haven hotel for food or the Sportsman personally I prefer the Haven

Avenue Mall for shopping, cinema, groceries, etc. Very nice place on 2nd road and Soi 13. You can't miss it. Lek hotel (across from Avenue Mall) has a very good poolside breakfast buffet that lasts until 1pm. At 110 baht, it's a great deal. The dinner buffet is even more impressive.

 

For a true local experience, there are street vendors on Soi 13/2 (aka Soi Post Office). Tasty and cheap food. The noodle stand in front of the 7-11 (next to Lek Hotel) is also a great choice. It's only open at night though.

 

Keep in mind, Big C shopping center, Royal Plaza shopping mall and Walking Street are all just a short bus ride away. Have fun!

I like the kebab man outside the internet cafe also only at night, even though one night I was very drunk and ate it too quick scratching my esophagus in the process. Cafe Au Bon Pen albeit expensive is nice to sit outside and drink coffee while watching the world go by.

 

Full agreement about the Lek buffet.

SHARK is right about Wonderful Bar 1 being a cheap place to drink with some decent girls. Usually only 4 girls work the dayshift and the young one is really nice. Very little English but check her out. It's on the corner of SOI 13 and Second Road.

 

A decent place for breakfast is the International Cafe??? or something like that located on SOI 13 just before Beach Road. Chili is pretty good, too, for Thailand.

Mate Soi 13 is very well located, you wont be disappointed with your choice.

 

Easy walking distance to either Soi 7 or 8 and Walking Street and the bars the other way.

 

I walk to Soi 6 but a Baht Bus along 2nd road is also very convenient.

 

Close to Mike Shopping Center all the US style fast food joints and Starbucks and Sizzler.

 

The area is popular with serious US golf nuts as well.

 

Lek has very good 100THB breakfast everyday.

 

I always stay in this general area.

Here's a second to the kebab man on 2nd Road. Some of the best late night Pattaya eats. Don't forget TQ1, a nice watering hole, on Beach Road.

is he the guy who is very popular, and always says something like .... ah how are you again... acknowledging that you are a repeat customer,

 

if so i was looking for kebabs from him in feb but he wasnt at his usual spot,

 

anybody know where he went/ is now????? great food!!!

That has to be one of the best SOI's to stay perfect location it is centralized and you can get to any where on a quick ride there. One my fav spots to get a bite is The Sportsman this is of freaking excellent! if you go towards the 2nd road end of the soi you will have the Lek hotel they have a great breakfast buffet then you have the Wonderful Bar 2 always has great talent and a great live band. you all all kinds of shopping and stands and massages palces and places to eat alot of food carts a mini mart and photo center to get photos developed or what ever you need and a eye glass store bars man this side of Soi is happening. Then if you walk to any end of SOi 13 you can walk only a few feet and end up and Mikes Shopping or at Royal Gardens. I always stay at the Dynasty Inn. across the street you this massive entertainment center with some shopping and places to eat and a great bowling alley love it. and a movie theater and beauty salons and barber shop. You made a great choice in stay on Soi 13 my brother.

The bar on the corner of Soi 13 and Second Road is Wonderful 2.

 

The Ritz on Soi 13/1 does a good English breakfast

Great Soi to stay on. Very close to everything, yet is quiet. I always stay there now.

Ritz, Sportsman, Haven, and the Rising sun are all excellent eating places.

Great place to stay, I always stay in the Sandy spring down there, great hotel and you can get good sea view room, at a good price. The location is ideal for getting out to bars.. shops or transport. The street is nice and quiet and easy access to everything. Plus the Sportsman does the best breakfast and Farrang food in town... (in my opinion)
