avoiding change fees.....

Soooo I know I will get hit with a $230 change fee but I need your guys advice. My original trip was supposed to be 10 nights, starting in bkk then finishing in pattaya. My boss has given me some extra time off and I'm considering extending my stay in pattaya by two nights. I'm a rookie and need help deciding if it will be worth the fee for the Two extra nights.

Tough call...for 2 nights I would say no, but if you can manage an extra week I would do it.    BTW...10 days from USA to LOS is really tight.  takes me a week just to adjust to the time change ( 12 hours from east coast )  The shortest trip I ever took was 2 weeks and that was a blur.... f s e  ( fuck sleep and eat )

I am not ting tong...my mother had me tested.

Totally worth it.

2 days may not seem like much, but it is when it's 2 extra days in Thailand/Pattaya.

I've done something similar several times in past, no regrets.

I wish I could do this, but I'm OCD as hell. I would be worrying about it the whole time. I'll prob just bite the bullet and pay the fee. I know once I get there I'll be pissed I didn't.

That is small money in the grand scheme of things. The memories of extending will hopefully last much longer.

Change fees are in addition to any fare difference. If you're on a cheap, non-refundable ticket chances are the fare will go up the closer you get to the date of the flight. So my advice is change it and do it now.

You will regret it if you don't book those extra days there!!!

Pulled the trigger, and coughed up the $230. I was going back and forth with the orbitz rep but they would not budge on the change fee. And theres no way to contact China southern without calling internationally, so I guess I'm stuck on that money too. Hope its money well spent. But I have a feeling it will be.

Think you will determine that the $230 was well worth it once you're there.

Long, brutal trip from the US; getting a couple of extra days softens the blow.

ok, you've decided already. But just FYI for all who might want to change while in Patts: consider that it's often not so burocratic over there than in Europe or the US... depending on the carrier you can change very easily. See my example from a few years back: http://www.pattaya-addicts.com/forum/topic/70075-quick-note-on-changing-flightsdates/?p=1105355
