Iraq jihadists control Mosul dam: officials

ARBIL, Iraq - Jihadists have seized Iraq's largest dam north of their hub of Mosul, giving them control over the supply of water and electricity for a vast area, officials said Friday.

I understand that one can flood all of Bagdad if blowing up this dam. MAy this be the strategic reason US is now bombing ISIL?

 

It has fascinated me how ISIL was no word in the public press and within a week thay had become a force in Irak to recon with,

Obama has decide to carry out limited bombing raids against ISIS but hasn't given the operation a name.
