OPEYDE PLACE HOTEL

THAI LADY SPECIALIST

Recommended Posts

Hi,

we are staying in pattaya later this year at Opeyde place for our first few nights.

we had narrowed it down to 4 different hotels and may well look at/try the others while there.

all we require is an ok location(not to far from action!), pool, GF friendly, clean and between 1100-1500baht.

i think having studied the options on here this hotel will be great however i hear alot of stories about hotels wanting full payment upfront.

anyone have any experience with this hotel?.

we will also probably check out. sunview place, golden sea and pattaya bay resort depending on how we get on!.

thanks in advance for any advice.

cheers

why would you want to move to four different hotels in pattaya?

I stayed at opey last december. Not brilliant to be honest. But cheap. I'd recomment Areca Lodge. Just round the corner from opey and much better.

we thought we would just try that one and then check out some others as we there for just under a month.

personally i just want a clean hotel with a good pool to swim in and laze around during the day for no more than 1500baht.

appreciate all advice good or bad!.

If the hotel wants full payment up front, just book for 2 or 3 nights, you can then move elsewhere if you don't like it.

Sandy Spring hotel on soi 13 is within your budget, probably more expensive than Opey de Place, but highly recommended.

Last summer Opey did not request full payment, but wanted to hold your passport.

>> but wanted to hold your passport. <<

Not going to happen .... I may be a newbie to Pattaya but I have traveled elsewhere.

They can see it. They can photocopy it, but in this case posesion is 100% of the law.

Can't miss the miserable biatch. The pool is nice but the service is shit. Lazy thais. Restaurant girl was too lazy to put our pool tab on the room so we fucked off the next day. Had booked in for two weeks. I lost 1000b but found somewhere better.

I stayed at Opey last trip, and again the trip before.

The location is good, the pool is nice.

The price is very good.

Regarding the service staff, I had no complain about it.

The ladies at the reception made me feel ok even with two girls in tow,

the restaurant lady was very friendly too, even though I did not always ate there.

Regarding the payment, yes the request full payment up front. I simply replied I preferred to pay by the week. I turned out the they forgot to make me pay at the end of each week, so I payed fully at the end of my three week holiday.

Take into account that if you pay by credit card the charge you something extra (maybe 1,5%, but not sure).

Only disappointment is the quality of the linen and towels.

I would book again!

cheers for advice. seems to be mixed responses to this place......apart from the general concensus about happy bollocks on reception. i shall send her everybodies regards!.

think we will book for 3 days and then see what else is about.

I have stayed there on 2 dirrerent trips. Never had a problem. They did ask for my passport on check-in,

The next morning I told them I needed it to change money and I never let go of it again, The service

is not first class but room service was promt and the food was OK. I would bring a small pad lock for

the safe room behind the front desk. It just allows you to double lock your stuff. Very good location

for access to action and plenty of good restaurants around. The towels and linen are lacking but not a

problem asking for more. The price last november was 650-750BHT. check thier website for specials.

I can't see them almost doubling thier rates fron last year. Big rooms, good AC. thick walls are a added plus.

You can reserve your rooms with just a phone call, without a deposit or credit card. Google "opey de place"

and you can get all the info you need.

Have a great time!

About 50 yards up on the same side is J&P Court.

800 baht for clean room, girl friendly, nice swimming pool. Bargain.

Really looks like a nice set up with the pool in the middle and the restaurant but I'd never stay there because no wifi.
