Blacklist if Overstay... Soon

Absolutely  :Agree1: When the person complies with the immigration laws, it should not have any problem. I was quite surprised how many gamblers will allow you to circumvent these rules and what they would in their own country have never tried it, so try to practice in Thailand.

Everyone is the architect of his own fortune and good luck for those adventurers.

Very true.  You see some folks bitching about this crack down, but honestly...it's not hard to stay here legitimately under any circumstances.  If you're married, retired, own a business, or put 800K baht in a bank....you can have a Visa.  If not you go get a student Visa and pay 20K baht a year for all your Visa stuff (though in that case you at least need to make a minimal attempt to learn Thai).  If someone can't be bothered to do any of this.....wtf.

I guess some folks are really just that lazy.  You can't blame the Thais for kicking them out....we would expect the same to happen to illegals in our home countries.

On 22 Oct 2014 I went to the Government Center at Chaeng Wattana for a 1 year extension, 90 day report and re-entry.

It took about 2 hours for the extension, 15 minutes for the 90 day report and 45 minutes for the re-entry with a 1 hour lunch break between the extension and 90 day report. Nothing has changed as far as the procedure, requirements or price from last year.  However, I did see a sign regarding overstay that I don’t recall seeing before. If you are apprehended and have overstayed your VISA less than 1 year then you will not be allowed to return for 5 years and if more than 1 year then you will not be allowed to return for 10 years.  You could probably buy your way out of this situation but I suspect that it would be rather expensive.
