Help! What laptop?

Hi all

I was about to purchase this laptop:

http://www.simplyacer.com/Product/id/423493

when i noticed this one for the same price:

http://www.simplyacer.com/Product/id/405002

Which set up is the better value? All those specs and numbers are confusing me

The laptop will mainly be used for watching dvd's, surfing the internet, and a bit of game playing (although i have a powerful desktop for this)

Since both laptops are the same price, i basically want to know which one gives the most bang for the bucks... Or are there other laptops for a similar price that are better?

Dont want to go over £400 as i mainly use the desktop, but nice to have a decent laptop to take with me to pattaya etc...

Cheers guys

Culvers

I'd go for the second one, pretty good specs and also a great discount from the original price!

But then again, the first one is that little bit lighter and has a better battery life.

Both would serve the purpose you want a laptop for well.

thanks panudate, yeah they are both good looking deals, my main confusion revolved around the difference between

Processor Intel® Core™ 2 Duo Santa-Rosa ( (T7300 - 2.0GHz, 800MHz FSB, 4MB)

and

Processor AMD Turion 64 X2 (TL-56 1.8GHz, 2 x 512KB L2 Cache)

i mean wtf???? Also not too sure about the difference with the graphics cards. As for the weight and battery life issue, to be honest i will always be using it near a power point...

Phew i need a beer, this laptop purchasing malarky is thirsty work.

OK at the moment the second one is in the lead... any differing opinions out there?

second one is the best one out of the two, but saying that, the battery life is terrible at only 1-2 hours

Hiya culvers

Why don't you buy the same one I got ?

Heres a pic and a Brief History:

64 kilobytes (expandable to 128 kilobytes) of random access memory (RAM)

Gavilan operating system (also ran MS-DOS)

8088 microprocessor

touchpad mouse

portable printer

weighed 9 lb (4 kg) alone or 14 lb (6.4 kg) with printer

The Gavilan computer had a floppy drive that was not compatible with other computers, and it primarily used its own operating system. The company failed.
