what does it take to get involved in the martial arts film industry? is thailand a good place to start?

i was in bangkok a few months ago and met an actor who introduced me to his agents.. they asked me to audition for the role of the main character's best friend in Street Fighter.. but a guy i was sort of getting involved with didn't want me having anything to do with the actor so i ended up passing up the offer.. anyway that would have been my ticket, but otherwise.. how is it done??

what about foreigners training in thailand.. competitions? any thoughts? any recommendations?

if i wanted to work in film.. as an extra to begin with i suppose.. do i need a working visa?

thanx@
