Can one buy medication more easily in Thailand than here in Europe?

 

Let's say I need some ointment or cream that I can get only if it's prescribed by my GP or specialist and they refuse.

Would it be less of a hassle (and cheaper) to buy it in Thailand without a doctor's intervention?

Not always as cheap as a Script of your own GP in the UK.

 

They also will not provide a Months worth like UK so often costs more.

 

Be aware many Meds whilst the same go under different Names in Thailand.

 

If you have a copy from Home bring it show in Phamancy and then work out if better value here or home.

 

Some Meds despite what others say WILL NOT BE SOLD OVER COUNTER

 

To get around this see a Thai Doctor to issue them This of course will cost more

Short answer is yes. Specifically, I have bought topical medication that is usually prescribed easily enough. Its good to know the type of medication as it may be sold under a different brand name.

No injections. Due to my skin disease I need topical testosterone for my penis. Currently the (incurable, auto-immune) disease is slowly destroying my glans. Topical testosterone might be a way to restore the skin. However, since there hasn't been much research on hormonal cures, my own doctors refuse prescribing it. At my own risk I'm willing to buy and use ttestosterone.But, like I said, not in a syringe. I'm not a bodybuilder nor a transgender, thank you.

I've done some research and it seems that AndroForte cream is what I'm looking for. It's very expensive online though (>$100), not to mention it has to be shipped all the way from Australia.

 

Would anyone happen to be familiar with AndroForte and know if it's available over the counter in patts for a reasonable price?

My testosterone level was recently shown to be quite normal, which kinda surprised me as I'm always feeling tired. Next time in Thailand, however, I will try to look for AndroForte cream or something like it because my current treatment with corticosteroids - they were easily and cheaply available at every pharmacy - doesn't seem to halt the disease. I am very self-conscious about my body, especially about the man-rod since that's supposed to be doing all the work.
