I am interested in bringing my thai girlfriend over to the US, but I am not sure if I want to marry her, so the Fiance visa is out of the picture.

 

What options do I have if I want her to stay with me in the US for 6 months, 1 year, etc.

B2 Tourist visa if employment and income are up to snuff or F1 or M1 student visa if she wants (and is elligible) to take classes here, and finally H2B if you have a company that can sponsor her for a work visa.

you mention employment and income up to snuff,, what exactly are you saying? Im guessing a bar or go go girl is out of the question? what kind of money is considered good savings for a thai? and as far as the student visas,,, can you explain more?

Basically the US (and other countries) doesn't want someone getting a visa that can't support themselves for the durations of their visit or have the proper savings. If you are sponsoring a foreigner to get a visa, your employment and income will be scrutinized also.

The US does not want anyone coming over on any type of non-immigrant visa that cannot prove they are going to return to their home country. If it is an uneducated bar girl, you are going to be SOL unless you try the fiancee visa route. Then you will just have to be patient and pay the money. But you WILL NOT get a tourist visa for a bar girl. Different in the UK or OZ where there is sponsorship. In the US, there is no such thing. For a tourist visa, it is entirely on the applicant to prove that they will leave when the visa is up and only hurts the applicant to have a US based relationship.

It does not seem to me that you are obligated to marry her if she has a fiance visa. Other than marriage, the fiance visa seems the best route to go.
