When in BKK, I eat at Took La Dee, the diner in Foodland on Soi 5 almost every night, usually around 3-4AM and the place is always packed. The one in Patts is pretty far up Pattaya Klang, so I have only been there a couple times. Prices higher than food carts, but food is decent and you get to sit in aircon looking at all the other punters picks for the night. They have a full selection of Thai and western food, though I've only had the Thai fare.

 

Food stalls are always on my list. Cheap and filling, and always pretty close to the action.

Lek is okay if you fancy something cheap and are based around that area within 2nd Road, mainly a farang kind of diet there. The kebab skewers are decent though. Better buffets to be had in my opinion. Eat Thai if you are on a budget, the food is tasty. Hope to try the street vendors more myself on the next trip, will report back on them in the future.

yeah eat the local stuff for 30-40 baht. Go to the food courts at Tuk Com, Carrefour etc and get a feed for well under 50 baht. The BBQ sticks that come out at night are good value for 10 baht each.

Canterbury Tales Cafe all day English breakfasts 75baht, larger one for 95 baht and fair priced main meals.
