Criminals Arrested After Crime Area Sweep By Police

PATTAYA – January 22, 2014 [PDN]; at 2.00 a.m. Pol. Capt. Netithorn Rattanasuchanan (Deputy Inspector of Pattaya city police station, Chonburi province) mobilised police forces volunteer police to inspect an area where the crime rate was high. The police were ordered to randomly search suspicious looking people and groups. They also arrested groups of lady boys and anybody that was gambling.

During the sweep of the area the officers arrested 8 drug addicts that consisted of 4 men and 4 women, 8 lady boy prostitutes and 5 male gamblers. The officers also arrest a Mr. Wittaya Pra-muean, aged 33, address 10 Moo 2 Tambon Khae Rai, Amphur Krathoombaen, Samut Sakhon province who was carrying a communication radio, 1 BB gun size 11 mm., 1 gun bag, 1 pair of handcuffs, 1 D.S.I. news officer card, 1 express news journalist card, 1 officer card of Pattaya police station (Dongtarn curve sub-branch), 1 set of high-low gambling, 1 set of Thai style gambling and some soccer gambling sheets so the police seized all of them for evidence.

Pol. Capt. Netithorn Rattanasuchanan (Deputy Inspector of Pattaya city police station) revealed that the police officers patrolled in the crime hotspot area in the middle of Soi Wat Boonkanjanaram, Jomtien second road, where they found the group of motorbike taxi riders who were sitting and gambling so the police arrested all of them and also found Mr. Wittaya Pra-muean who was also gambling and the police recognised he as he used to work as an assistant officer at Pattaya city police station, Dongtarn curve sub-branch, but he was sacked for corruption by extorting money from the tourist.. Initially, the police detained Mr. Wittaya, and the group of gamblers and drug addicts and sent them to the investigation officer to prosecuted further. The lady boys were fined on the spot and then they were free to go.
