I want to open a bank account in Pattaya

Recommended Posts

Posted

I will be visiting Pattaya in July/August and I want to open a bank account. The reason why I want to open a bank account is that in a few short years I am hoping to retire to Pattaya. So I would like to open an account sooner rather than later.

I want to know if it is easy to open an account in a bank in Pattaya. And which bank is best for me to open an account

I wanted to do the same but I heard it is easier said than done... Hope you get some good replies.

I would like to start having my company send a portion of my pay each month to an account in LOS. I'm split between Siam Commercial Bang and Kisikorn. Which bank is better of the 2. I only get to visit for 2 weeks at a time every 4 months. I dont think I could get the documents from Immigration. I do plan to move there eventually and would like t have funds already there.

How safe is my money in LOS?

I opened account in Kasikornbank and it was easy. All you need is address in thailand(not have be your, hotel or some else is ok), opening fee was 300baht, and take your passport also. Only problem with that bank was that i only stayed one month so i did went often to ATM, one time could not get any money...they have some kind of weekly limit- if you go kasikornbank remember to ask about that one..

Many told me to go Siam bank...who knows. I think kasikornbank works fine in my case, i have also internet and cellphone service from there..

what's this limit thing for ATM? I used my USA ATM debit card and ATM says something 20 bill limit or soemthing, but I still managed to get 23000 that day. so what's the limit???

I opened an account at Kasikorn Bank a few months ago.

All I needed was a passport copy and my hotel address in Thailand and 300 baht.

I also got online access.

I can now transfer money directly to my Thai account from my home bank or at a money exchange for $7.

Afterwards I can check online to see whether the money has arrived.
