Travel advice for newbie trip

Solo male early 30's. Decently fit. First time trip to Thailand in April 7th. Total stay is about 9 days. I understand the end of my trip will be during songkran. A friend of mine says I should avoid BKK and just spend my whole time in PTY. I think I will return to Thailand maybe in the future but for now, I'd like to get the most for my stay there. Besides the usual reasons solo male travelers go to Thailand for, I am definitely also interested in sightseeing, temples, elephants, Muay Thai and whatever else so I have plenty of photos to bring back home to show. How would you go about planning a 9 day stay? Also, it'd be great if I can find a cute Gfe to show me these sights during the day. How would I go about that? ****just realized title says travel device...I meant advice. I'm sure they have lots of devices there.

I changed the title for you.

I would suggest heading straight to Pattaya. If Songkran gets too much you could head to Bangkok. There are plenty of touristy things in Pattaya to take photos of and no problem finding a cute girl for a GFE. Picking up a beer bar girl would be the best bet for this.

For GFE just spend time strolling along Soi Buakhao, LK Metro, Sois 7-8.  You will get girls calling out, look them up say hi and take it from there.  Always go for the ones that take an interest, and not the ones that take no interest....

Thx. Arrive in BKK late afternoon. Deciding to stay 2 nights in BKK to take a break from the long flight (22 hrs!!). Then off to Pattaya for 6 days and then back to BKK for final night before flying back.

Bangkok 2 days.

Drinks at the Moon Bar on the roof of the Banyan Tree hotel at 4-6pm is pretty damn good.  Could do this on the way back from a visit to Grand Palace and Wat Po. (you need long trousers for the temples, and for the Banyan Tree bar). Go for a nice massage in Silom afterwards. Maybe drop in to Patpong later in the evening. That's a pretty good day out in BKK.

If you want to do shopping really you can do most of it at MBK at National Stadium BTS.

To get a GFE in Bankgok I think you might start at Hillary 2 Bar on Soi 4.  Its a short time to scout a good connection but possible.

To get a GFE in Pattaya just walk out the door, turn left or right, or just walk straight ahead.  A stroll along beach road whilst despised by some members for pickups, can deliver excellent results.....not so much gogos, that will be an expensive gfe, if u can get one.

  • 3 weeks later...

Last year in Pattaya during Songkran I noticed many Russians that seemed to overly enjoy trying to knock motorbikes over by pointing their water water cannons at the rider's face and into their ears. My friend was upset that I did not go back the next day. That afternoon there was a shooting at that beer bar. Songkran can be fun but keep your eyes open for potential trouble. I am looking forward to returning to Pattaya this April. That will make it 5 in a row for me. See you there!
