Motorcycle rental blackmails overstay customer

I've seen numerous disgruntled customers outside that place. Most of them being accused of scratching the machines in some way. Was even toying with the idea of renting a bike. This thread has certainly put me off. Does anyone know of any reputable hire compamies.

...ook ...since this issue comes up here ...I've good experience last 3 years from Mr. Na a thai man with motorbike rent in front of Bangkok Bank Beach Road (a little south of Royal Garden Plaza Mall) ...he's 100% ...some mates rented and bought bikes from him a few years ago ...he keeps the bikes for them all year (non rented ...has been checked) for 500 bhat/month and before they enter Thailand they call him and the bike will be ready with new battery ...if needed ...he also takes their storage bikes to annual inspection at the right dates and does all the insurance paperwork ...keeps the greenbooks (titles) for the owners ect. ...everything 100% ...and a very nice & honest guy which has lived 7 years working in Europe ...so he understands farangs and speaks good english.

...in fact my overstay mate in this thread ...rented a 1000 cc Honda from Mr Na before he rented from SAK's ...maybe Mr Na´s honesty ...cought him offguard with SAK. Mr. Na kept the same overstay passport without any problems ...then my mate had an accident with Mr Na's bike ...therefore he went to SAK's for another big bike.

Mr Na's numbers: 081-761-7762 & 087-940-7500 he also organizes motorcycle tours with groups around thailand on his rented bikes ...which he guides.

I know it's been said before time and time again, but one more time won't hurt...

do not hand over your passport to anyone, for any reason.

There's so many hire places, you can just walk up the road to the next one.

Same applies to hotels, too - one time in Phuket I was asked to surrender my passport "for safe keeping" - there's plenty of stories around about how hotel safes are not safe...

Is your mate a tool?

2 big bikes, 2 crashes, on one holiday......

You bumped this thread up or I wouldn't have had a good laugh.

- The guy overstayed his visa

- rents a motorbike and reveals the fact that he overstayed to the owner of the rental company

and wonders why he is in trouble.

I didn't read the whole thread. Was he the one who had 2 accidents as well?

I’m not trying to protect the bike owner, but why to hell are some guys on overstay.

By doing that you’re extremely vulnerable to any sort of scam.

All I can recommend is to follow the rules and stay clean.
