Drunk Thai Motorcyclist Killed Instantly

A drunken Thai man rode his motorbike against the flow of traffic and collided with a pickup truck killing him instantly. Rescuers rushed to the scene.

PATTAYA – December 15, 2013 [PDN]; at 12.30 a.m. Pol. Capt. Jeerasak Aebfaeng (Investigation police on duty of Nong Prue police station, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province) was notified that there was an accident were a pickup truck had collided with a motorbike killing the rider instantly.The accident occurred on route 36, entrance route to Rayong province before Khao Mai Kaew grade separation, Tambon Pong, Amphur Banglamung, Chonburi province, so he rushed to inspect at scene together with the police team and the rescuers of Sawang Boribul Tharmmasatharn foundation, Pattaya city.

At the accident the officers found a blue-white Honda Sonic 125 motorbike, license number KOR YOR NOR-253, which was lying on its side in the middle of the road and was severely damaged. In the bush beside the road the officers found the body of Mr. Sitthichai Sootthikhet, aged 27, who had suffered broken arms and legs and here were many wounds to his body. There was also a strong smell of alcohol. Near the body there was a navy blue Chevrolet pickup truck, license number BOR LOR-2456 Rayong which had sustained damage to the front. The Thai driver aged approximately 45, (not reveal his name) told police that before the accident occurred he was driving back home to Rayong and when he approached the curve in the road the motorbike rider suddenly appeared on the wrong side of the road resulting in the accident. The pickup driver said he didn’t see the rider until it was too late.
Capt. Jeeraksak Aebfaeng (the police on duty who responsible for this case) assumed that Mr. Sitthichai (the deceased) might be a peasant in this area and he had drunk liquor until he was heavily drunk then rode his motorbike at high speed against the flow of traffic resulting in the pickup truck colliding with him killing him instantly.
