A Sailor And 10 Military Police Assaulted Shop Owner

A sailor and 10 military police assault a shop owner after the sailor had a disagreement with a mobile phone shop owner.

RAYONG – December 12, 2013 [PDN]; at 3.00 p.m. Pol. Lt. Col. Prasert Techama (Investigation officer of Baan Chang police station, Rayong province) was notified that there was an incident of controversy on the second floor of Baan Chang police station and found that more than 10 military police of Sattahip sailor, Chonburi province, which were dressed in thier military police uniform were using batons to beat Mr. Charoenphong Pai-nern, aged 30, address 6 Moo 10, Tambon Nong Chan, Amphur Laemsing, Chanthaburi province. Mr. Suthas Eam-jorn, aged 22, address 32 Moo 2 Tambon Wangjan, Amphur Wangjan, Rayong province and Mr. Therdsak Khrootnoy, aged 34, address 207/27 Moo 7, Tambon Phlutaluang, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi province, all of the victims got injured at their faces and bodies were badly bruised.

Many police officers of Baan Chang police station tried to stop the fighting and assisted by sending the injured victims to Queen Sirikit hospital, Chonburi province. Then the military police saw more police coming to assist so they jumped into a bronze Toyota Vios license number 44961 car and fled the scene crashing into police cars which were being used as a road block but this didn’t stop them so the police used rubber bullets to shoot at them but all the bullets missed and they escaped.

After initial investigation, the police perceived that previously Captain Thinnakorn Karnjanatemee who is a sailor at Sattahip naval base had been quarrelling with Mr. Therdsak’s wife who is the owner of mobile phone shop at Tesco Lotus of Amphur Baan Chang branch. Captain Thinnakorn had destroyed the property in the shop but later Captain Thinnakorn had already apologized to Mr. Therdsak’s wife and gave compensation. However, Mr. Therdsak’s wife showed the video clip to her husband of what happened which showed Captain Thinnakorn tried to slap her with around her face with a calculator and then threw it on to the floor damaging it. This incident caused a big disgruntlement to Mr. Therdsak although his wife and Captain Thinnakorn had sorted the problem out.

Until yesterday (December 12, 2013) the police called the 2 litigants to negotiate in front of the investigation officer, both of them brought their partisan together. Mr. Therdsak broughtan an attorney to join in negotiation which Captain Thinnakorn asked for the indemnification for 200,000 THB but Mr. Therdsak bargained to be 50,000 THB that caused the dissatisfaction to Lieutenant Commander Pichit Petcharatthanu, aged 46, who is the subordinate of Captain Thinnakorn that was sitting in the investigation room then he walked out to order his 30 subordinates that are the military police of sailors that were waiting around the police station to come up to use the batons to assault Mr. Charoenphong and Mr. Suthas that were sitting in front of the defendant detained room until both of them got injured.

When Mr. Therdsak saw that his friends were assaulted so he walked out from the investigation room then suddenly he was punched at his face by the military police until got contused which at that time Pol. Lt. Col. Songkran Sanhakorn (Deputy Superintendent of Baan Chang police station) saw the incident and tried to forbid them but he was blocked by the military police.

Mr. Therdsak went to notify the police to prosecute the group of sailors and the military police in the allegation of assaulting by more than 10 persons which the police will rush to investigate the victims and the bystanders in order to charge the group.
