Well Known TV Program Presenter Attacked In Her Room

A 18-year-old male teenager climbed a balcony to enter the room of a female officer who is off a well-known TV program. He tried to rape her but fortunately for her, her younger brother fought him off and the attacker fled the scene and he was arrested at the basketball court.

LAMPANG – December 9, 2013 [PDN]; at 6.15 a.m. a journalists of Khao Sod newspaper reported to Pol. Lt. Praphakorn Thachomphu (police on duty of Mueang Lampang police station) was notified that a woman was attacked in room number 111 of one mansion that is located at Tambon Sobtui, Amphur Mueang, Lampang province. After being informed he coordinated with the patrol police officers to inspect the scene urgently. Later, the police team together with the volunteer police had detained a man at a basketball court, Baan Dong Chai, Tambon Sobtui, Amphur Mueang, Lampang province.

The suspicious man was naked and only wearing a blue blanket to cover his body. He had lots of cuts and bruises and he looked like he had been attacked with a sharp object, his legs were also bleeding. The suspect was identified as Mr. A (alias), aged 18, who lives at Tambon Maesook, Amphur Jaehom, Lampang province. During the arresting Mr A resisted and cried out that he wanted to see his mother and was acting crazy. The police detained him and took him back to the to the incident n in order for the victim to point out to confirm he was the attacker. Mr. Supphachai Eam-suwan (the Deputy Provincial Governor of Lampang province) also came to inspect the incident.

Ms. Pim (alias), aged 35 (the victim) who was staying in the incident room confirmed that Mr. A was the man that attacked her. She also told the officers that before the incident occurred she and her colleagues had travelled from Bangkok and arrived at Lampang approximately 10.30 p.m. and stayed in their room. Then at around 5.00 a.m. there was a male teenager who climbed the balcony of her room opened the door and entered her room, when she gained conscious the attacker was sat on top of her and was trying to strangle her. She resist and cried out for assistance but the attacker used a shirt to smuther her face so she used her elbow to awaken her younger brother who was sleeping next to her.When her younger brother saw the assailant they scuffled for a while then the assailant ran out of the room onto the balcony climbing down from the second floor to the first floor and ran away into the night. The victim called the police immediately.

Mr. Supphachai Eam-suwan (the Deputy Provincial Governor of Lampang province) who came to inspect at scene said that for the offence must be prosecuted according to the Thai law but he came to inspect the scene because the victim is off a TV program who is a guest of Lampang provincial governor. This incident shocked the other residents of the mansion. The police found out that Mr. A had been prosecuted before in case about narcotics and was under probation.
