Downloads where?

Not too long ago when you put your mouse on a photo you could see the number of downloads. I can no longer see this.

 

It was always of interest to see which photos were popular with the members.

I believe Admin' decided that it was spooking posters, seeing how many times their photos had been downloaded (it certainly did me) so they disabled it.

Some of them were said to be due to BMs clicking on pics hoping to see a bigger image, but......

 

I may be wrong, but it's still working on other Invision boards.

I think you go it. When you click on any picture and it opens up in a tab/window in full resolution, you are effectively downloading it to display on your screen. This is a temp download to your temporary internet files, which is why it doesn't show up in your downloads folder. This would most likely increase a view count. Not sure why anyone would get spooked by pic view count.

I don't know whether you ever posted a pic of a TG who might not be happy to find out that she was on the internet as a prostitute (had a quick look and saw nowt) but when you see that BMs are downloading it en masse (100 plus in a short while) perhaps to circulate to friends and perhaps to be posted elsewhere, then I for one was spooked and stopped posting them.

 

The later explanation that some of those downloads might be as we've said cut no ice with me and neither does concealing the numbers obviously.

 

If you haven't done it then I understand why you might not understand.
