Missing Divers Body Washes Up On Beach

A body of a male diver still wearing his diving suit and oxygen tank washed up on the beach of Amphur Langsuan, Choomporn province. It is believed to be the body of a Russian man who went missing while diving on November 21, 2013. The diving company at Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi rushed to the scene.

CHOOMPORN – December 7, 2013 [PDN]; Pol. Lt. Withoon Phueakwaree (police on duty of Pak Nam Lang Suan police station, Choomporn province) was notified that there was a corpse of foreign man which had washed up on the beach at the seaside Moo 13 Tambon Bang Maphrao, Amphur Langsuan, Choomporn province so he rushed to inspect at scene together with the police team and the rescuers of Phootthapratheep Langsuan Association.

When the officers arrived at the scene they found the corpse was wearing a black diving suit with an oxygen tank on his back. The body was badly decomposed around the head, hands and feet. The body was sent for an autopsy at Pak Nam Lang Suan hospital. The autopsy results found that the corpse was a tall man approximately 175 cm tall and of western origin with brown skin and hair aged approximately 35-50, the officers assumed that he had been dead no less than 7 days.

The police assumed that the deceased might be a Western tourist that went diving and was thrown by the sea waves until he drowned. His body washed ashore at the seaside of Choomporn province. For relatives who want to inspect the body they can go to Phootthapratheep Lang Suan Association or can call for information at telephone number 077-541246.

Ms. Suwimol Malaiyart (the Managing Director of Ik T. Under Co., Ltd.) Revealed that she was contacted by the police and the journalist of Pattaya Dailynews newspaper that they had found a body and she had already seen some pictures of diving equipments that were sent from the journalist. She will go to Choomporn to inspect the body to see whether it is her diving equipment or not in order to confirm whether the body is a Russian man that came to celebrate his honeymoon with his wife and went missing while diving at the west of Koh Rin island, Pattaya, on November 21, 2013.

Very sad situation, I hVE seen and posted about this before. Only good outcome is the wife has closure of this disappearance it is always very disturbing and sometimes life long pain when the body is not found.

 

RIP my fellow diver.

Missing November 21, found December 7th , dead less than or about 7 days .. YIKES! Floating around the ocean waiting to die for 9 days ! Geez I hope not

According to PDN link above;

 

Ms. Suwimol Malaiyart (the director of Ik T. Under Co., Ltd.) Revealed that the company operates a diving business and on November 21, 2013 there were 47 Russian tourists all of them were divers had been transported by boat named Ik T. Under 1, to the dive site at the south of Koh Rin Island. The boat departed from Balihai cape, Pattaya at 8.00 a.m. and arrived at the dive site at 10.30 a.m. The first group of 7 divers dived together with the dive instructor for 55 minutes at the depth of 6 meters and once they surfaced and checked the numbers of divers he found that 1 diver was missing, it was Mr. Karen. Then all the diving instructors dived together to look for Mr. Karen. They also notified the sea rescuers to search for him but they couldn’t find him so they notified the police.
