Anything under 2Gb is dirt cheap now. In TukCom they're knocking out 1Gb thumbdrives for B209 - I just bought a couple of fast 4Gb drives for B500 each, and have my eye on an 133x 8Gb CF card for my camera at B1600. No excuse for running out of memory these days!

I am presuming that those are some obscure brand? Still a wicked price though. If I had known I would have bought a few when I was there.

One tip about getting an 8gig cf. You can get so much on these big cards the tendency is to wait till its full before getting the shots off it onto either computer or disc. If it corrupts or is lost then you are up shit creek with the amount u lost. I use 4x1gig and 2x2gig cf cards. I can get over 100 shots on a 1 gig card and I shoot in RAW. If I do a shoot and lose a card or 1 gets damaged i still have the shots on the other cards safe. Just a thought.

The brand is 'Transcend' and supposedly comes with a lifetime guarantee. The faster the card the quicker it will burn the internal tracks out so I guess you makes yer choice. I'm going to settle on a 4Gb stick for B1100 - that's nearly 300 RAW files, should be plenty even for me. Still have to PP the bastards afterwards!

I've heard of Integral, but I'm not convinced that they are as good as SanDisk & Lexar cards - especially if you use Compact Flash in a DSLR. However, on Play.com you can get a SanDisk 2 GB SD card for

Having done a bit more research, I've found This Deal from mymemory.co.uk and postage is included. That's £2.62 per GB if you're trying to compare. I'm stocking up for my next trip. :D

Best place to buy SD cards at the moment seems to be Amazon. Just bought a 4GB micro SD card with adapter for £8.00 including postage.

Transcend cards are ok, and can be had at really good prices in LOS. Just bought an 8GB CF (133 Speed) in Bangkok three month ago for about 1500. The speed is more than adequate for my Canon 40D, and with a decent Card reader a full card is transferred to the HD in about 4 Minutes!

generally I find and have always bought my memory sticks from eBay, and have always found them to be the cheapest, even including shipping.
