Body Of missing Chinese Tourist Found Near Phuket’s Koh Lone

Officials have confirmed they have found the body of missing Chinese national Gao Yang, 20, who fell off the rocks at Promthep.

Phuket – November 22,2013; Choomporn Penrat from Rawai Municipality confirmed to The Phuket News that the body of Mr Gao was found today around midday, between Koh Hei and Koh Lone – around 7 kilometres from Promthep Cape. The body was found by a speedboat captain.

The body has been taken to Phuket Provincial Hospital where an autopsy will take place.

Mr Gao’s parents arrived today from China.

Mr Gao was studying in Singapore and was in Phuket on holiday with a group of friends, when they visited Promthep Cape on Wednesday afternoon (November 20) in time for sunset.

Mr Gao slipped on the rocks close to the water and fell in. His friend tried to grab him and ended up with cuts and bruises, but Mr Gao was washed away.
