A drunken Indian man got hit by a motorcycle while crossing Pattaya’s Beach Road because he carelessly staggered into the motorcycle’s path, so he ended up with a broken arm.

PATTAYA – November 20, 2013 [PDN]: – At five o’clock Police Lt. Col. Supan Sopee, the detective inspector of Pattaya Police Station got a report that there was an accident involving a motorcycle hitting a tourist in front of the ‘Tropicana hotel on Beach Road in Central Pattaya. The victim was injured, so he went to the crime scene with rescuers from Sawang Boriboon Foundation in North Pattaya.

The police found an Indian tourist, (name unknown), who appeared to be in his thirties and was lying on the road with his right arm broken and bruises on his body. Nearby they found a white Honda ‘Click,’ (red plate 9-2222 Pattaya), that had got a little damaged and the driver was Mr. Charernsak Rodkorn. Both he and his passenger had got some bruises on their faces and bodies, so the rescuers gave them first aid and sent them to hospital to be checked.

Mr. Charernsak told the police that he was transporting his pillion passenger quite normally, but when they reached the accident spot, he saw a drunken Indian man walking unsteadily and trying to cross the road. He tried to avoid the Indian man, but the swayed back into his path, so it caused this accident. We all know not to drive when drinking, but we also must be more careful or have a friend to watch over us, as an accident can ruin a happy Thai holiday. Remember that you need accident and / or health insurance in Thailand as there is no free medical care within the Kingdom and furthermore, you may be expected to pay damages to the other party.

+1

It's not limited to soi Buakhao though. This won't be the last time an Indian or Pakistani tourist gets hit or clipped by a car or motorcycle.

During my last trip in June, I was with that evening's barfine, riding a motorbike taxi from WS back to my hotel on Soi8 when we narrowly missed an extremely drunk falang staggering down the middle of 2nd road at about 3AM.  Other vehicles were swerving to avoid him.  My point being... it's not just drunk folks from India or Pakistan doing stupid pedestrian shit in Pattaya.
