Immigration Police today held a press conference to announce the arrests and impending expulsion of three foreigners.

Phuket – November 19,2013; The first was American Forrest Wayne, 41, who was arrested on Sunday (November 17) at the Bel Aire Resort on Sainamyen Rd, Patong, at the request of the US FBI.

He is wanted in Texas on a charge of statutory rape. His permit to stay in Thailand was revoked and he is being held in custody in preparation for handing over to the US Embassy and FBI officers who will escort him back to the US.

Arrested yesterday evening (November 18) in Rawai was 56-year-old Georges C Sirre from Belgian. Immigration police explained that he was previously sentenced in Belgium to an 18-month jail term for molesting three girls under the age of 11, with the sentence suspended for five years. He had a Non-Immigrant B visa.

However, he is being thrown out of the country because he was found to be selling sex toys over the Internet which, Immigration Police argue, contravenes Section 12, Paragraph 7 of the Immigration Act of 1979, which mandates expulsion for anyone “Having behavior which would indicated possible danger to the public or likelihood of being a nuisance or constituting any violence to the peace or safety of the public or to the security of the public or to the security of the nation, or being under warrant of arrest by competent officials of foreign governments.”

His permit to stay, too, has been revoked and he will be sent back to Belgium.

The third case was that of Johan Daniel Wetzelmayr, 32, from Sweden, who was arrested on November 5 by Karon police for overstaying.

They discovered that an arrest warrant had been issued for him in August in Hua Hin, on a charge of embezzlement, relating to a motorcycle.

He will be sent back under escort to Hua Hin to face the court there, after which he, too, is likely to be expelled from the country.
