Tour Bus Crushes Teenager To Death

A 16 year old female who cut in front of a tour bus was crushed to death after the bus ran over her head killing her instantly.

PATTAYA – November 19,2013 [PDN]; at 5.00 a.m. Pol. Lt. Col. Phumphat Narmphuttha (investigation officer of Pattaya city police station, Dongtarn curve sub-branch, Chonburi province) was notified that there was an accident involving a motorbike which had been hit by a tour bus. The incident occurred in front of Watchara Compact Co., Ltd. On the Sukhumvit road, at the entrance route to Sattahip, near Thepprasit, south Pattaya, Moo 12 Tambon Nong Prue, Amphur Banglamung, the officer rushed to the scene together with the rescuers of Sawang Boriboon Pattaya foundation.

At the incident the officers found the body of Ms. Yaowarat Banthao, aged 16, address 17 Moo 2 Tambon Kokchang, Amphur Sakhrai, Nong Khai province, she was lying face down on the road, her skull had been crushed by the wheels of the bus.There was a friend of Ms. Yaowarat who had fainted near the incident point. Approximately 200 meters away, there was the tour bus license number 10-3768 Chonburi, route Rayong-Koh Samui island, which belonged to Roth Roongrueng (Mookdaharn) Co., Ltd. and white Yamaha Meo motorbike, license number JOR SOR LOR 547 Chonburi which belonged to the dead victim.

Upon questioning Mr. Surachai Boonwang, aged 26, who was the tour bus driver, confirmed that while he was driving the tour bus heading towards Sattahip doing 80 km./hour the victim was riding her motorbike coming from Soi Khao Talo and was riding in the middle lane until she arrived at the red traffic light she over took the bus and cut back in front of the bus and was hit from behind by the bus dragging her underneath for approximately 200 crushing her under the wheels.

The journalists also confirmed that there were 8 passengers who consisted of 6 Thai people and 2 foreigners. They had to remove their belongings and waited for another bus to take them to their destination. The police have detained the tour bus driver and will check the CCTV footage to investigate the accident further . The body was taken to Banglamung hospital.
