American Caught In Phuket On Paedophilia Charges

A 41-year-old American wanted on paedophilia charges in Houston, Texas, was arrested at a hotel in Soi Sai Nam Yen in Patong yesterday afternoon (November 17), after the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) requested Thai Police assistance the previous day.

PHUKET – November 17,2013; Forrest Wayne, a fitness trainer in Houston, was wanted for carrying on a sexual relationship with a 13-year-old girl he befriended at the Westside Fitness Center, where he worked.

A report last Wednesday (November 13) by KTRK TV of Houston quoted police as saying that Wayne and the girl engaged in “multiple sexual encounters” at a hotel between July and October, with the last one occurring on October 10.

The FBI were brought in when it was discovered that Wayne left the US for Thailand on November 1.

On Saturday (November 16) the FBI contacted Thai Police who were able to track him down and arrested him the following day at his Patong hotel.

He has now been handed over to Phuket Immigration Police who will handle his return to the US.
