A member with 0 posts asked me for a translation. this is what he said..

"Hi, I am first time going pattaya. Read too much posts. Need to know..

How Can I say : " I need an octopus in bed,, NO Starfish " In thai phrases."

can anyone translate? I suspect you would have to explain what we mean as starfish and what he means as octopus, probably a waste of time and lots of confusion.

" chun tung gan ( pla muk ) bon theang, mai chai (pla daw) ".. i dont think they are going to understand what you are trying to say though..lol...

how about ( chun mai chop kon ke ge-it bon theang ) ( i dont like lazy people on the bed ).. it sounds more natural...

hope this helps..

P.E.Gobs translation is fine. As you say though Bryan it won't mean anything to them, or at least it won't mean what you want it to mean. If you explained it to them though they would eventually get it.

Some times they do have the same expressions as us i.e. pai ying katai (Go shoot a rabbit). I reckon it is much more fun doing it the other way around and getting them to tell you their expressions.

Is "chun" correct or should it be "pom" (if it's coming from a guy)?

So i would say "pom mai chop khun keegeit bon theang"

I thought "chun" is said if it's coming from a female and "pom" if it's a guy?

Strictly speaking it should be "Pom" although men do some times use "Chan" when talking to close friends even though it is regarded as a female personal pronoun.

thanks panyaa, so then it's probably safest to always say "Pom" in most cases.
