Construction Worker Killed By Speeding Car

A 51 year old male construction worker was killed in a hit and run accident on the Sukhumvit road when he was trying to help some local people heard their cattle.

CHONBURI – November 16, 2013 [PDN]; at 7.00 p.m. Pol. Lt. Saijai Khamjulla (investigation police on duty of Sattahip police station) was notified that there was an accident where a car collided with a pedestrian killing him instantly the driver then fled the scene in the direction to Pattaya city.The Incident occurred on the Sukhumvit road, km.167, route Sattahip-Pattaya, in front of Bang Sarey resort, Moo 8 Tambon Bang Sarey, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi province .The police were informed and a team was set up to entrap the fleeing driver.

At the incident on the right lane of the road the police found the body of Mr. Phanom Preawnim, aged 51, (who lived in Pathumthani province), a construction worker .He had suffered fractured neck and was bleeding a lot from his ears. He was wearing only underwear and his black jeans had been dragged to his feet, he was lying face up on the road. Nearby the officers found some parts of the front bumper of a Toyota Vios car which had fallen off in the collision.
Upon questioning Mr. Wasan Prempree, aged 35 who is the foreman said that the dead victim was a construction worker in the camp liked to sit to drink rice whisky every day after work and when he was drunk he liked to walk on the side of the road. Before incident occurred was very drunk, he then walked out of the camp and at that time he saw a drove of cattle which the local people were droving on the road so he was afraid that they would be hit by the car. He decided to help them heard the cattle and walked alongside them when suddenly a car being driven at high speed collided with Mr. Phanom (the dead victim) killing him instantly.
