Kiwi dies in car crash

A New Zealander drove at high speed and crashed into the back of a parked garbage truck killing him instantly

Surat Thanee, November 15, 2013 [PDN]: at the communication radio station of Koh Samui police station, reported that there was a car accident involving a garbage truck and sedan, on Taweeraj Phakdee Rd, at the front of Jitmoong service garage, moo 4, Maename, Koh Samui, it was reported that there was one confirmed dead, he was a New Zealand

tourist. Pol.Lt.Capt. Itsares Samniangwarn, the detective on shift went to the crime scene with the rescuers from Kulol Songkroh foundation Samui Island.
At the accident they found golden bronze, Nissan NV sedan, license plate numbers are Bor Bor 9535, Surat Thanee, , the car had collided into the back of a garbage truck of Samui municipality, a white and green Mitsubishi , no registration number. In the sedan they found the body of Mr. Frank Brown, 65 years old, a New Zealander, his face was mangled, neck fractured, and had broken both legs, he died instantly. The rescuers had to pry the car door open to remove the body which was sent for an autopsy.
The garbage truck driver was waiting for the police, his name is Mr.Apirak Duangmala, 33 years old, and he told the police that he stopped to collect garbage, when suddenly a car traveling at high speed crashed into the back of his truck, which caused him to jump for his own safety. He then went to help the driver of the car but he was already dead, so he waited for the police to arrive, said Mr.Apirak.

Initially the police have sent the body to Samui island hospital to check for alcohol. The police lice have reported the accident to the New Zealand embassy and his relatives will be informed of his death. But for the truck driver the police told him that he was parked illegally causing the accident.
