There's probably only a smaller chance of getting caught in a bomb attack in the UK at the moment than as in most parts of Thailand. Can't let it rule your life and where you go.

Its pointless worrying too much about possible bombings, to do so would just ruin your time on holiday, the chances of being caught up in this type of situation are so slim that you would be exceptionally unlucky.

 

If you go around looking out for 'suspicious types' you will go insane as they are everywhere when you start to look, especially in Pattaya its also pretty pointless 'staying away from crowded areas' unless you want to spend your vacation in your hotel room... so push it to the very back of your mind and enjoy yourself.

Pattaya unfortunately is full of what you would classify as “Soft Targets” and the boys in brown here do not have a clue at what to look for! But it’s going to happen sooner or later the world is not a safe place with all these people who wish to become a martyr for Allah! It’s those 15 books that take off from the Koran that tells them to kill non-believers is okay! All in the name of Allah! It’s a screwed up world!

I doubt it, unless you are talking about the bombings in BKK. The muslims in the south have very little to gain from bombing pattaya its too far from their stronghold and its a lot of risk.

 

If I were to worry about them I would think Phuket would be a higher threat

Arab section of town growing fast and I will leave it at that! Or go down there one night and sit in one of the Arab bars around midnight and watch and listen to the comments you will receive Or directed to you! I speak half-ass Arabic enough to understand!

 

Plus Pattaya would make a better target for them in the news, better exposure!

and if there were a bomb on WS, wouldn't the fine folks in the Arab Quarter (ie: Soi Marine) be victims too?

 

Having said that, my embassy sent me an SMS yesterday (2/24) advising about possible terrorist action in BKK this weekend. The last time that happened was New Year's Eve and we all know how that turned out...
