Noodle Vendor “Jae Tia” Arrested With Amphetamines

Police arrested an amphetamine dealer who disguised her drug selling business by selling them with pork noodles. Police used marked bank notes to catch her in the act.

CHONBURI – November 14, 2013 [PDN]; Mr. Phawat Lertmookda (Sattahip sheriff) together with Mr. Chawat Thepthap (Assistant District Officer of Stability Division), Pol. Lt. Col. Aphichanan Wattanawarangkul (Inspector) and Pol. Capt. Rewat Thongprakorb (Deputy Inspector) mobilized forces of administration division and the protection and subduing team of Sattahip police station to make a plan for purchasing amphetamines and to arrest Ms. Somporn or “Jae Tia” Plangklang, aged 52, who is a pork noodle vendor at Soi Tharmmavittaya, Moo 2 Tambon Sattahip, Amphur Sattahip, Chonburi province the allegations of having drugs and selling. The defendant was arrested with exhibits consisted of 2 amphetamine pills and the marked banknotes used to purchase at a cost of 200 THB.

Mr. Chawat Thepthap (Assistant District Officer of Stability Division) revealed that Jae Tia is an ex-prisoner for previously selling amphetamines she had been arrested 3 times previously. Besides, the officers found that the children in her family were also addicted to drugs and many of them have been arrested and prosecuted. Every time that Jae Tia was arrested she would find money for the bail to fight a lawsuit. She was not afraid of the law and opened a pork noodle shop to conceal the drug selling from the police until she had a reputation in the area of “300 THB pork noodle” that referred to the customers who wanted to buy amphetamines had to buy 1 bag of noodles at a price of 100 THB and amphetamines for 200 THB per pill, altogether for 300 THB in order to be concealed from the police who would think that they were only customers that came to buy pork noodles. Therefore, the police team sent an undercover agent to purchase noodles with marked bank notes. Initially, she confessed that she had to sell drugs because she wanted to get money in order to pay a loan shark with interest of 20% that she had used for bail.
