Police arrested a 20-year-old groom-to-be who robbed a pharmacy and claimed that he wanted the money for his wedding ceremony. His relatives asked the police for permission to perform the wrist tying ceremony in the prison but the police denied their request.

RAYONG – November 12, 2013 [PDN]; The police of Mabtaphood police station took Mr. Sitthichai Phongnairat, aged 20, who is accused of using a sharp knife to rob Ms. Chanyaphas Jettanasamritchok (the employee of pharmacy named Sapphaya 2, Sukhumvit road, Tambon Mabtaphood). The incident occurred on November 9, 2013.

From investigating, the defendant confessed that he rode around on his motorbike looking for victims to rob because he didn’t have money for his wedding ceremony in the morning of November 10, 2013. Whilst riding around he could not find any victims to rob which made him stressed, so he decided to use a sharp knife to rob the employee of the pharmacy in order to get money for his wedding but he was arrested by police.

Once the defendant’s relatives found out that he had been arrested the asked for permission from the police to allow the bride to perform the wrist tying ceremony in the prison as according to the auspicious time of marriage but the police didn’t allow them to do this so therefore the relatives changed the ceremony to a house-blessing exorcise bad luck.
