Russian Tourist Nabbed For Drunk – Driving After Phuket Crash

A Russian tourist was arrested for drunk-driving after crashing his car near the municipal swimming pool in Cherng Talay.

Phuket – November 5,2013; Police received a report at 8:15 pm that a car had overshot a curve in the road and crashed into a Billboard.

At the scene they found a white Toyota Yaris buried in the Billboard and its driver, Igor Vashurkin, 49, from Omsk, ranting at rescue staff who had helped him to get out of the wreck.

He was taken to Thalang Hospital where his blood alcohol level was found to be over the limit. He was arrested for driving under the influence.
