Police closed part of Pattaya City to hunt a teenage man who fired a pistol in a restaurant to threaten people and fled in a bronze Mercedes-Benz. He was later arrested, then claimed he was a son of a Thai Court Prosecutor, with a brother in the Narcotic Control Police of Region-7 in Thailand.

PATTAYA – November 6, 2013 [PDN]; (See our picture of the crime scene), -At 1.00 pm, Police Major Colonel Seksan Ruewate, (the crime suppression inspector), and Police Captain Noppadaol Raksawong, plus police officers and civil volunteers from South Pattaya, set up a check point near the ‘Big-C’ store in South Pattaya. They saw a young man driving a (racing modified) bronze Mercedes-Benz, (license plate number “3Hor-3374, Bangkok”), featuring a black bonnet with a “Courts of Justice” emblem on its front grill. It headed for Sukhumvit Rd. and it was driven by the teenage man, who earlier fired a pistol into the air to threaten people at the “Champ Barbecue Pork Restaurant” in Soi Bongkot, South Pattaya. Apparently, he has done this many times before in places within Pattaya, but has never got arrested, even though there has been a arrest warrant issued against him.

The police asked him to stop, but he didn’t and sped through the check point towards Sukhumvit Rd. then turned left into Central Pattaya. A police vehicle followed and broadcast through the police radio for other police officers and civil volunteers to help catch him, plus the police warned that they should be careful because the man had a gun and had just fired it not long before. This young criminal tried to drive into small lanes in Pattaya, but the police and volunteers trying to monitor and intercept him, found the car locked in a dark corner of the Pattaya City Public Health Office in Soi Buakao, and then ran to hide in a local beer bar.

However, the police arrested the man, who was drunk, protested at being arrested, then boasted that he was a son of a Thai Court Prosecutor, with a brother in the Narcotic Control Police of Region-7 in Thailand. The police handcuffed him, did a body search for weapons, then searched a backpack, but did not find the gun in it. He tried to avoid this, by not cooperating, boasting about his father and his brother again, and denied having a gun and making trouble. This teenage criminal claimed that he was just drunk and was escaping, because he was afraid of being beaten by the police, who had pressurized him over some illegal matters, but the police were not convinced, because there were a lot of witnesses involved in this case.

Inside the Mercedes the police found a very expensive Austrian 9mm caliber “Glock-19 Grand” pistol (with a magazine), hidden under the back seat. There was also an empty cartridge casing that had had been fired at one time and become lodged under the front window, so the police took everything as evidence. When he had surrendered, he tried to ask to the police privately to let him go, again saying that he was a son of a Thai Court Prosecutor, but the police did not accept this request and detained him to answer more questions at the Pattaya Police Station.

After checking the criminal record of this man, they found his name was Mr. Attapol Intarasomboon or “Bank,” a 28-years old man, registered as living at House Number-317, which was his old house at Dusit in Bangkok. Now he was unemployed, so his house is in Soi Khaotalo in South Pattaya. He still claimed that he was a son of a Thai Court Prosecutor, with a brother in the Narcotic Control Police of Region-7 in Thailand, but confessed that he was drunk and fired his gun into the air. He stated that he had purchased the pistol from a friend for 80,00 THB (Thai baht), so initially, police have charged him with having a gun and cartridges illegally, and carrying a pistol in a public place without permission, plus firing a gun in a public places without reasonable cause. Moreover the police asked him to urinate in order to check if he had any drugs in his body, before they sent him to the police detective team for further prosecution.

It is clear that this teenage criminal comes from a wealthy background in order to be driving a racing modified Mercedes-Benz car, plus owning a “Glock-19 Grand” pistol, which is expensive (costing many thousands of dollars when new). No doubt the police will uncover some very interesting evidence as this case proceeds.
