Rush To Build Chonburi To Pattaya Motorway

Express way Authorities of Thailand are continuing to build a Chonburi to Pattaya extension of the motorway to shorten the travelling time from Bangkok to Pattaya to only 90 minutes.

THAILAND – November 3, 2013 [PDB]; Mr.Aiyanat Thin-apai, the governor of Expressway authority of Thailand, EXAT, revealed that the EXAT prepared to open the public hearing the second time for the Buraphavithi Expressway Project , Chonburi – Pattaya ,distance of 57 kilometers (km ), which is an extension of the expressway Buraphavithi , from Bangna – Chonburi . After the first public hearing in September, most people agreed , it would be more convenient to travel from Bangkok to Pattaya in only one and a half hours, it is proposed to be completed in August 2014.
The motorway will improve the travelling time to Bangsan, Laem Chabang, and Pattaya, making it easier and more convenient for people to visit the surrounding areas.

” EXAT will build better access roads to Lamchabang port reducing traffic jams and congestion on the The Sukhumvit Road areas said Mr Aiyanat.

ETA sources said, initially we will have to considered the possibility of the routes, 1.along Sukhumwit Rd., 2. Along the east route railway, 3. The trail along a new place. The budget is expected to be around 55,000 million baht.

News from the Department of Highways said that the department would toll motorway No7 from Chonburi to Pattaya a distance of 51 km, but will be free until completed. It is said to be completed within 3 years from the start of construction.

The Department of highway also plans to expand the highway from Pattaya – Mabtaput, 32 km to gain better access to the east region this will cost a lot more to construct due to the road being completely new at a budget of 16 billon .
