Man Hangs Himself, Death Due To Stress

A 65-year-old British old man, who was a Go-kart repair technician suffered so much stress about his family problems that he decided to hang himself. Police say “Mr. Mike’s” death is not suspicious but very tragic.

PATTAYA – November 1, 2013 [PDN]; – Police Lieutenant Colonel Suphol Pornprasertphol, (an Investigation Officer of Pattaya’s Banglamung Police Station in Chonburi Province), was notified that there was a dead foreign man who had hung himself in a storeroom. This incident occurred behind the Go-kart car racing field, near “Mini Siam,” in South Pattaya, on the south side of the major Sukhumvit Road (Highway). Then Lieutenant Colonel Suphol Pornprasertphol together with Police Lieutenant Colonel Theeradech Masthanaphan, (the Superintendent) and Police Lieutenant Bamroong Phannorach (Deputy Inspector) mobilized forces of police team plus the rescuers of the “Sawang Boriboon” Pattaya Rescue Foundation to inspect the scene.

The incident location was in the storeroom of equipment and spare parts for Go-karts, where the officers found the corpse of a 65-year old British national known as “Mr. Mike.” (His real name and surname are not known at this time). This distressed British man had used nylon rope to tie around his neck to the ridge beam of the roof and as his body was stiff and had no wounds or any traces of being abused, the officers assumed that he had been dead for approximately 4-5 hours. The police didn’t find any documents or evidence on his body, so the police let the “Sawang Boriboon” rescuers take the corpse to be kept at Banglamung Hospital. Later the body will be transferred, so that an ‘autopsy’ can be performed at the Institute of Forensic Medicine in the Police Hospital.

From questioning Mr. Bancha Prakorbsuk, (aged 31), who is the manager of the Go-kart car racing track, he affirmed that Mr. Mike was a technician who repaired Go-karts at the racing track and he had worked there for 4-years. Lately in the mornings, he had observed Mr. Mike murmuring about his family problems and he had told him that his Thai girlfriend had sold the house and was preparing to move to other place. Mr. Bancha didn’t think that this would be a very big adverse event with him, until he found that Mr. Mike had disappeared for a long period of time, (which was unusual), so he went to look for him and found his dead body hanging at the death scene. Often in these situations we sometimes regret not having said something more to our friends, before such tragedies occur.
